Which version of "Tennessee Whiskey" is the best?

Updated: Aug 26

The country classic written by Dean Dillion and Linda Hargrove is a tune to which all Whiskey lovers can relate. Originally recorded by David Allan Coe for his album (also called Tennessee Whiskey), the song peaked at number 77 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart in 1981. Since then the song has been covered by countless artists including George Jones, Chris Stapleton, T-Pain and Justin Timberlake. Here is a selection of some our favorite renditions.

1. The Original Recording: David Allan Coe (rocking a legendary hairstyle in this live performance)

2. Chris Stapleton (showing that his voice can also be as smooth as Tennessee Whiskey)

3. Teddy Swims - this version is nothing but soulful and pure (everyone here at Malcolm Brown loves it)

4. T-Pain - this one's jazzier than a baby from Louis Armstrong and Billie Holiday

5. Here are 10 of the best from the VOICE - our favorite has to be Judah Kelly (he nailed it)
